The draft rules have been prepared in line with the requirements of section 15(7) of the Electricity Act, Cap. 131, which requires among other things, the licensee to maintain and keep records of all accidents which occur in the course of performing their licensed activities. The draft rules are expected to create legal obligation to all licensee in electricity sub sector to conduct their licensed activities in such a way that will avoid injuries to person and damage to properties. The rules require a licensee to report to Authority all accidents resulting into loss of life, injury to person and damage to properties as stipulated under these Rules.
Having completed the draft rules, EWURA is requesting for your comments before 15th August, 2015 for the purposes of making these rules more effective to meet its objectives.
