Regulatory Activities

Regulatory activities performed by the Authority in regulating the electricity supply industry includes, among other things, issuing licenses, tariff setting, and compliance monitoring to ensure quality and reliability of services and supplies. The regulated infrastructures include power generating plants, power transmission and distribution substations and lines, which are operated by private and public entities.

Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)

The Authority sensitize electricity service providers on the need to keep their power supply facilities at highest level of safety. Service providers are also required to inform the public on the dangers of electricity, and safe ways of using electricity, and have their workers maintain a high level of safety when working in the field. The Authority carries out inspection of the power supply facilities, including power stations, substations, and distribution lines and service lines in order to check HSE issues.
