EWURA publishes November 2025 petroleum price caps

The Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority has issued the cap prices for the petroleum products applicable in Tanzania Mainland, effective from Wednesday,
5th November 2025 at 12:01 am.
As per statement issued by EWURA DG today, Dr James Andilile, in November 2025, the retail prices of petroleum products in Dar es Salaam, Tanga, and Mtwara, shall be TZS 2,752, 2,813 and 2,844 for petroleum, TZS 2,704, 2,766 and 2,797 for diesel and for the kerosene TZS 2,774, 2,835 and 2,866, respectively.
For a consignment received at the Dar es Salaam, Tanga and Mtwara ports wholesale prices for November 2025, are TZS 2,612.48 , 2,618.39 and 2,618.69 for petrol, and TZS 2,564.79, 2,575.81 and 2,582.27 for diesel and TZS 2,634.35 for kerosene respectively.
EWURA would like to remind wholesalers, retailers, and the general public to adhereto the section 166 of the Petroleum Act, Cap. 392 that prices of petroleum products are governed by rules of demand and supply.
All petrol stations must publish petroleum product prices on clearly visible boards, retailers must issue receipts printed from an Electronic Fiscal Pump Printer for all sales that they make and all retailsers and wholesalers are required to sell petroleum products at the issued prices. Legal action will be taken against non compliants.
EWURA shall continue to encourage competition in the sector by continually availing petroleum product pricing information, including cap price.
