By Asiatu Msuya

The EWURA Western Zone Office has observed the Customer Service Week in style this year, by meeting with members of the Tanzania Federation of the Disabled People's Organizations (SHIVYAWATA) in Tabora region to raise awareness on their rights and responsibilities regarding the EWURA’s regulated energy and water services.

The members had also an oportunity to gain knowledge on the complaints handling mechanism, water service quality standards, the safe and proper use of the liquified petroleum gas for cooking, and the importance of client service charters.  Additionally, they were urged to only contract the licensed electrical installation personnel.
The EWURA’s Western Zonal Manage, Eng. Karim Ally, while officiating the workshop, today, at the office premises in Tabora, affirmed that, engaging with stakeholders including people with disabilities, is one of the Authority's best practices, aimed at enhancing their knowledge and awareness on regulatory matters at the same time receiving their feedback on the regulated services.
On the other hand, participants requested EWURA to extend its outreach programme to  SHIVYAWATA members found in various parts of the country, as well as to other similar groups, in order to strengthen their understanding of regulatory matters.
