Regulatory Instruments
The main legislation in the petroleum sector are: EWURA Act Cap 414 and the Petroleum Act, 2015. Subsidiary legislation include Regulations made by the Minister responsible for Energy and the Rules made by the Authority. In accordance with Section 40 of the EWURA Act Cap 414, EWURA, in consultation with the Minister responsible for petroleum affairs is allowed to make Rules in respect of all matters considered necessary or desirable to give effect to the Act.
