Deputy Minister of Energy meets EWURA Management, calls for speed and efficiency

The Deputy Minister of Energy, Hon. Salome Makamba, today 24 November 2025, met with the Management of the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA), in what marks her first engagement with the Authority since her recent appointment.
Hon. Makamba met with the leaders to discuss various operational matters and improvements needed within the country’s energy sector. The meeting took place at EWURA Headquarters in Dodoma.
She commended EWURA for the good work it continues to undertake in regulating energy services, and urged the Authority to enhance its pace, innovation, and efficiency.
“I am not a believer in failure. Therefore, I urge you to be well-prepared to match that pace so that you continue to excel in executing your responsibilities,” she said.
The Director General of EWURA, Dr. James Andilile, presented a brief report to Hon. Makamba outlining the Authority’s mandates, key achievements, and areas under continued improvement.
Dr. Andilile pledged that the institution will further enhance efficiency in the execution of its duties to ensure that citizens receive high-quality, safe, and reliable services.
