EWURA DG takes part in OMCs stakeholders meeting

The Director General of EWURA, Dr. James Mwainyekule, has today, 4 March 2026, participated in a high-level meeting of the petroleum oil marketing stakeholders (OMCs) convened by the Minister of Energy, Hon. Deogratias Ndejembi (MP) to discuss, among other things, strategies to enhance fuel supply, especially during this period of the ongoing conflicts between Iran and the United States of America.
During the meeting, the Minister of Energy assured the OMCs, of the governments’ firm support and cooperation and spelled out that, appropriate steps have been put in place to ensure that the challenges arising from the dispute to the local fuel market are taken into account.
“The government is vigilant, organized and has done everything possible to ensure the security of fuel supply, while ensuring you all with highest-quality support, and it is I call upon everyone to abide to the industry operational laws.”
He also sought their cooperate at all times to ensure that Tanzanians have access to fuel services without any hindrance. The EWURA’s Director General, in turn, assured the service providers for a continued and adequate support from the Authority and had stressed that stern measures will be imposed to the non-compliant.
