EWURA donates 455 bed sheets to Iringa RRH

The Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) has donated 455 bed sheets to the Iringa regional referral hospital aiming to improve medical services at the hospital, being a part of its corporate social responsibility and the implementation of the Authority's Workers Council resolution, held in the region on 9th to 10th February 2026.
The Acting Administrative Secretary for Iringa, Ms. Nuru Siyovelwa, on behalf of the Regional Administrative Secretary, received the materials and she thanked EWURA for the gesture saying the region's hospital will provide better services to its customers and minimize service inadequacy.
The Medical Officer in Charge of the hospital, Dr. Alfred Mwakalebela, the bed sheets will reduce the existing shortage, explaining that, operational standards require, each patient use 6 bed sheets as per day, but currently the service is insufficient.
“We have arranged for the procurement of the materials, which were also not adequate, but the 455 pieces received from you (EWURA), will strengthen service provision” he affirmed.
The EWURA’s Central Zone Manager, Eng. Hawa Lweno, on behalf of the Director General of EWURA, who presented the donation and said the Authority will continually providing contributions to the community in various issues including health.
