Officials from the Office of the Treasury Registrar of Zanzibar paid a working visit to the offices of the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) with the aim of learning how the Authority carries out its mandate of regulating energy and water services.
The visit took place on Thursday, 8 January 2026, at EWURA Headquarters in Dodoma, as part of efforts to enhance mutual understanding and promote experience sharing between the two public institutions.
The Legal Unit Manager, representing the Zanzibar Treasury Registrar, Mr. Mustafa Abdallah, said their institution is relatively new and that the visit was specifically intended to learn regulatory, operational, and governance systems applied by EWURA and other institutions, in order to strengthen their capacity to effectively and professionally oversee institutions under their mandate.
EWURA’s Director of Petroleum, representing the Director General, Mr. Gerald Maganga, said the visit provided an important opportunity to exchange experiences, strengthen institutional cooperation, and jointly learn best practices in the management of public resources.
