EWURA Meets with the Liberia Electricity Regulatory Commission (LERC)

The Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA), today, 1st September 2025, held a meeting with a delegation from the Liberia Electricity Regulatory Commission (LERC) at EWURA headquarters in Dodoma.
The purpose for the meeting is to share knowledge and experience on electricity regulation and to explore areas of collaboration between the two institutions in order to enhance service delivery to consumers.
Speaking during the session, the Director General Dr. James Andilile, said that EWURA is ready to collaborate with LERC, including sharing technical and operational expertise, to ensure that the electricity sector delivers greater benefits to consumers.
On his part, LERC Board Chairperson Mr. Claude J. Katta noted that LERC is still a young institution and has come to learn from EWURA’s regulatory expertise, particularly given its strong reputation in overseeing the energy and water sectors across Africa.
He also expressed his gratitude to EWURA for the warm reception and willingness to share experiences, which will help them strengthen electricity services in Liberia.
