Staff of the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) on 26th November 2025, participated in a one-day health seminar on HIV/AIDS and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), aimed at increasing awareness and sharing key self-protection practices within the workplace.

Speaking during the opening of the seminar, EWURA Director General, Dr. James Andilile, emphasized the importance of prioritizing personal health by adopting a healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise, balanced nutrition, and routine health screening.

“A human being cannot work efficiently when their health is not stable. Our daily operations require us to stay healthy if we are to bring meaningful impact to the nation,” he stated.

Director of Human Resources and Administration, Ms. Hawa Mniga, noted that the Authority organized the seminar to promote a culture of prevention, health responsibility, and employee wellbeing, to ensure EWURA maintains a strong, safe, and high-performing workforce.

The seminar was held ahead of World AIDS Day (1 December) under this year’s theme: ‘Choose the Right Path, End AIDS’—a call for informed decisions and collective responsibility in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
