Fuel cap prices for September 2025 drops

The petroleum price caps taking effect on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, has decreased by 36 shillings for petrol and 23 shillings for diesel for the received consigments at the Dar es Salaam, Tanga and Mtwara ports respectively.
A statement issued by the EWURA’s Director General, Dr James Andilile, shows that the FOB prices have also decreased by 0.2% for petrol, 5.5% for diesel, and 3.5% for kerosene, respectively, leading to a price drop in September 2025. Similarly, the applicable exchange rate for the period has decreased by 3.96%.
On the other hand, premiums at the Dar es Salaam port have increased by an average of 20.73% for petrol, 7.75% for diesel, and 2.62% for kerosene and decreased by an average of 12.66% for petrol and diesel at the Tanga port while there are no changes at Mtwara port.
EWURA reminds all retailers and wholesalers to sell petroleum products at the indicated prices. Legal action will be taken against the non-compliants.
