Fuel price caps for June 2025 drops

Dodoma: The June 2025 cap prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene have continued to bring relief to motor vehicle users, compared to the May 2025 prices. According to a statement released by the EWURA’s Director General, Dr James Andilile, the petrol prices have dropped by TZS 72.16, diesel TZS 51.89 and kerosene by TZS 184.93 respectively, at the Dar es Salaam port. For the Tanga port, petrol prices have decreased by TZS 69.41 while diesel dropped by TZS 50.1 shillings. In Mtwara, petrol prices decreased by TZS 71.65 and diesel TZS 51.37 respectively.

June 2025 petrol prices reflect a decrease for the FOB prices decreased by 0.9% for petrol, 3.4% for diesel, and 3.7% for kerosene, respectively which attributes to a decrease in the June 2025 ceiling prices. In addition, average foreign exchange rates have decreased by 0.63% while the premiums at the Port of Dar es Salaam had increased by an average of 4.34%f or petrol, 22.43% for diesel and decreased by 1.65 %. At the Mtwara Port, premiums increased by an average of 51.55 % for petrol and there were no changes for the diesel.

It should be noted that, calculations for retail price caps for petroleum products that came into effect today, adhered to the new transportation rates for petroleum products published in Government Gazette No. 5083 of 25 April 2025.

EWURA requires retailers and wholesalers to sell petroleum products at the indicated prices. Legal action will be imposed against non compliance.
