Prices for petrol, diesel further drops in October 2025

The cap prices for the petroleum products for the month of October 2025, have further dropped by TZS 55 for the petrol, and TZS 50 for diesel respectively, with no change in kerosene prices from the September 2025 caps.
The statement by the Director General of the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) Dr. James Mwainyekule, shows a decrease of the applicable exchange rate by an average of 5.10% and a trend in the decrease of FOB prices by by an average of 1.95%, which attribute to the fall in cap prices for the October 2025.
Futher, fuel prices for a consignment received at the Dar es Salaam port, have decreased from TZS 2,807 to 2,752 for petrol and TZS 2,754 to 2,704 for diesel while prices for kerosene remained constant at TZS.2,774 for consectuve two months,.
Retail prices for a consignment received at the Tanga port, decreased from TZS 2,868 to 2,813, diesel from TZS 2,816 to 2,766 and kerosene remained constant at TZS. 2,835.
For the Mtwara port, retail petrol prices have decreased from TZS 2,899 to 2,844, and from TZS 2,847 to 2,797 for diesel and, no changes for kerosene prices which are TZS 2,866 as the case for September 2025.
